catching up

I had a 10 foot board that wasn't used for its intended purpose and I couldn't let it sit blank. I started painting and went tropical. I like to experiment with acrylic to paint in the total opposite method of watercolor. The intensity of color is much easier with acrylic and mistakes are easier to cover! The bright colors were calling me to paint them and add them to my wall.

Tate and his red bucket

My "painting a week" has transformed into "finish what I have already started"! This painting was started six months ago from 5 pictures taken on Playa Bonita in the Dominican Republic. I loved watching all of the kids run and play in the sand. Tate was engrossed in building a sand structure using his red bucket!

stations exhibit

Lena and her friend in front of the gallery. They were able to visit from Italy and be a part of the exhibit!

Installations in the catacombs of the gallery. The perfect background to house the stations of the cross.

An incredible challenge for Darin White to "hang" though! Many thanks to him and his talents.

The stairs to the Genesis Gallery. Station 14 is what I represented, Jesus was laid in the tomb.

Philip and Anh Sawyer, my wonderful cousins and the people who started this whole event! Thank you to them both!

Stations Exhibit, Paris

I had the amazing priviledge of participating in an exhibit in Paris. Stations is the 15 Stations of the Cross, as seen through the eyes of 16 contemporary American artists and expressed through their various disciplines and media.
